This morning, some of our group enjoyed a nice morning jog and took in the fresh Asturias air. After a hotel breakfast, the entire group packed up and boarded the bus that would take us to a nearby surf town. For many, this was their first experience surfing! We all had a blast during the surf lessons and appreciated the wetsuits the company provided (brrrrr!).

We headed back to the hotel in the afternoon and participated in Spain’s favorite pastime, SIESTA! Afterwards the group did a full citywide scavenger hunt, solely in Spanish. We were asked to find:

• A local saying
• A local slang word
• A picture with someone’s dog
• Something that sums up the culture of Asturias

This evening we have filled out our Language Learning Goals for the trip and ways to accomplish  them. We enjoyed tapas to end an amazing day.
